FW: New Years' thoughts on the new S6 Avant.....and now how about
the "All Road" which several listers wrote to me about?

I agree, sort of. For me, and I can only speak of my personal opinion of
course, I don't think I would ever use the off-road capabilities of the
Allroad. Would anyone really risk their ($100,000 ++ Can.$ (I'm guessing))
vehicle by going truly "off-road"? And if you are not going truly
"off-road", why do you need the capabilities, which you have paid for??
I am a well experienced off roader and while ground clearance is good to
have, it isn't everything. Your vehicle will take some bumps, scratches,
dings and general abuse. There is a difference in ride and handling between
a luxury car or "sport-ute" and a 4X4 truck. This difference translates to
durability. The truck will survive, the car will not.
