well exactly.

Because a tiny piece of silica can be made to do a whole lot of things,
doesn't necessarily mean that it will always be able to master the
electron/mechanical connections.

The "Tiptronic".  A computer chip will "enable" you to play "Boy Racer", and
shift gears without a clutch.  GReaaaat!  But the larger question, I think,
is "WHY BOTHER?".

And then what happens if it all fails...just after the warranty period
expires?  And all that aggravation for how much money?

Nope.  Makes NO SENSE to me at all.
