You're right, Brett, so I posted this back up to "public".
At a higher voltage, the fan will draw a bit more current. Of course,
at Bosch alternator charging voltages, there won't be much of a
difference...!
the 25 A fuse will be nothing to worry about (my coupe's been running
one for years), but if you are going to play with lower ratings make
sure you test them with the engine running, as well. And keep that
spare 25A in the car and keep an eye on the temp gauge...
