List 'Lurker' Needs Help from California Folks!

  I'm posting this for Dave Hackl, a long time Audi-owner and sometime
Q'List lurker.  He desperately needs some help from any California based
list member.  This falls under the heading of E-Bay deal gone wrong.  What
he is asking for (at my suggestion) is for some list memeber to maybe try
to make an in person contact with the seller who's no longer responding.
It stinks of scam to me but since Dave is out at this point a little over
$800 it would be a big help to know whether or not these people really
exist.

This guy has already cashed the check Dave sent so the money is gone and
now he's no longer responding to messages and calls.  It feels like Robert
Hack, but wrong side of the continent!  So if some lister is relatively
near this location and is willing to do a little local leg work for Dave he
will compensate you for your time (within reason).  If anyone can help

This could be as simple as a dumb-ass kid who has not gotten around to
shipping, or it could be a total scam.  He/we just want to know which.
