Unless you've made substantial headway in fixing the problems with
the car(like, say, the blue smoke belch, or the exhaust leak into the
passenger compartment, etc) and catching up on maintenance, you
shouldn't be looking at these "toys." Some would say you need to
make two lists, one with performance upgrades, one with
repairs/maintenance items. You don't. The only list you should be
working on right now is repairs and maintenance :-)
If you suspect the FPR(I wouldn't, given the high miles, I'd suspect
really dirty injectors) of causing your blue smoke belch, get the
stock part, it's around $50-60.
It's not fun, it's not sexy...but neither are the more severe
problems that can come from inattention to upkeep.
Clean up&fix everything top to bottom, and impress the hell out of us
at Mt. Washington this year. :-)
