Scott, I agree with Javad on this. There is not significant risk of damage
when tilting the cam to replace the lifters. If you want to remove the cam
gear thats fine. He didn't say that it was THE way to replace lifters,
merely another method that works just fine. I can attest to no damage with
this procedure when I did it on my 88 90q.
