Mushy brake pedal after new pads/rotors

I got my front pads/rotors replaced today after a rotor warped.
Gotta love that new car warranty :-)

However, I'm a little concerned about the pedal feel now.
I know that new pads need to bed a while before they are up
to full potential, but this seems excessive. They are a little
soft when braking the car, and if I sit at a stop with pressure
on the pedal, it will slowly sink pretty much to the floor,
in about 5-10 seconds.

This can't be right, can it? How can you mess up brake hydraulics
putting on new pads?
