I've not looked at tamper-proof automotive fasteners, but on the ones the
telephone company now uses to keep you out of the "innards" of the boxes
mounted to your house, the post keeps a torx bit from entering the
screwhead enough to actually engage the slots. The post doesn't look like
it's that big, but it's effective. A regular torx driver just spins.
