the problem with using the city light fixture is that the bulbs for it
are very low wattage, like 5w or something. You want more like 20w I
think for your turn signal to be nice and visible. I will yield the
argument, though, to any effective working examples. Reality rules, not
guesswork!

That's what I did, too. Then I rewired the foglight activation relay to
run on parking lights or low beam, so in poor visibility I can run just
the city lights with the fog loghts.
