95-97 A6 survey/advice

A local specialty dealer has 3 A6's. Two '95's, and a '97. All 3 appear to be
in great shape with no cosmetic issues whatsoever. I have not yet driven
them, and that could be a whole 'nother issue. The 95's have about 100k miles
and the '97 about 59k.
Other than the mileage (and age) the only visible difference between the cars
is that the '97 has the 16" 5 spoke wheels. In my view, they give the car a
_much_ more substantial (better) appearance.
All that said, the price difference is my dilemma. The '97 is listed at
19,900, while the '95's are 12,900. I would obviously prefer to own the newer
car, but I have a hard time justifying a 7k difference.
I'm looking for _opinions_ as to the value of the newer model compared to the
95's, not a thread about the technical variances, or actual pricing. Just
comparative opinion, and is there anything to be cautious of on this
particular model Audi.
