My mother just had one in her 90q 20v, North American spec imported to
Europe.
Might have been more than 5mph the way she described it.
However, bumper did it's job.
It was a downhill, glare ice, lost control went into a 4" steel barrier
filled with concrete, she bent it!
She thought the front end was gone.
Got out and to her surprise (and onlookers) no damage, this is a North
American spec. car in Europe.
She was told that if she was in a Euro spec car the lights and grill would
most likely be gone.

Personally I hate the way they look, however only takes once for them to
save some embarrasment and unnecessary expence.
