Dude! Chill! I was just wondering about what you described, and had a
question about the position of the seat when this happened.

Perhaps I should have posted my final remarks to Javad publicly to the list,
rather than in private, where I explained that I was just trying to have a
little fun - No harm intended.

As for myself, no, I haven't fallen asleep in the drivers seat while parked
and had the reaction you described - probably mostly due to the reclined
position.

However... I have on several occasions fallen asleep while actually driving!
Perhaps a comparable scare.

As a matter of fact, for a period of time while I was in college, and
driving a cab at night for income, I am still convinced that I somehow was
able to drive while sleeping with my eyes open. I don't know if this is
actually possible, but it seems like I remember at least one time where I
had the jerking wake-up reaction you described just in time to hit the
brakes before parking in some poor guys trunk.

Has anyone else experienced that - sleeping with open eyes while driving?

Yeah, yeah, I know, all the sly remarks about how most people appear to be
asleep if one was to judge from their driving skill, but I mean really -
actually fall asleep due to fatigue while driving, but still having your
eyes send messages to the brain to the extent that you could still make
appropriate steering inputs, and "wake up" just in time to avoid an
accident...?
