Well, unfortunately my wife's is the Avant, and comes sans tiptronic, and
with old body...

Steve: AFAIK all of the wagons ought to be listed as "Avant", as I believe
Audi has used this term about their wagons since the early 70's at least. I
know my '87 was an "Avant", not a wagon. If I am not mistaken, this is due
to the funny shape - hybrid between a fastback or 4-door coupe and an actual
wagon.
Does anyone remember the BMW Avant's from the '70's? I think it was the
earliest 3-series, or was it the 2002ti that was made as an avant?
