A self-tightening slip bushing is in one side of the cast-aluminum mount.
Look carefully with a bright light and you will spot it. Use a hammer or a
pry bar to move the bushing outward just a touch. The alternator will then
slip right in; when you tighten the hinge bolt, it will pull the bushing
back up snug to keep the alternator from rattling around.

Yes. It runs under the passenger's feet, where there is a troublesome splice
(similar to team door-handle, going by the handy moniker Team Jump-start).
The other wires go to the starter and the jump post. This splice can be
blamed or exonerated by measuring the voltage at the jump post and at the
