Yeah- I guess I'm experiencing the float you mention.
I don't consider this to be deep snow- only a couple inches
actually on the road.
As for your tire size suggestion- yes, I know, but when
you have 996 calipers, I can't downsize to my OEM 15s
and I didn't have a spare set of 16s, otherwise, I'd try
205/55R16.

If the tire is wide enough, and the snow deep enough, you will float in
snow no matter what the tread or compound. For better performance in
deep snow, the Hakka Qs would probably do. However, you probably should
be using a 205/60-15 on a 200 in the winter.
