You can achieve pretty much the same effect by interrupting the WoT
switch return to the ECU. Same symptoms as a defective (a.k.a. Type
1 - they're all bad) throttle body switch.
As a general guide - if your throttle body switch has a visible seam
running round it looking like it would separate into two halves - it's
broke. The Type 2 cover slides completely over the body of the
switch - no visible seam.
