Is the 100 an auto? I have a 5000 that was auto then put a 5spd in it and it felt like an extra 20 horsepower. The auto transmission put in the 5000's and 100's soak up alot of horsepower when compared with the 5spd.
To gain a few Hp start by making sure the car is tuned up properly (you would be amazed how much better things are when that engine is properly tuned). Check the plugs and make sure they are the proper plug (use the tri electrode available from Bosch or the dealer every other plug I've tried has really sucked). You can also get a K&N filter. There is also a mod done to the CIS E-III differential pressure regulator that richens the mixture up at full throttle (claims of 10 extra horsepower) Low range power is not effected). Next you might want to go with a free flow exhaust (even if the stock exhaust is in good shape it is probably full of rust, bits of catalytic converter (and if it sat for any length of time mice bits and bugs). After that go with a good cam. I would expect a gain of 15-20 HP at most. If you want more than that then you'll have to look at internal engine mods (ported head etc.) or go with a turbo setup (which can add 100 Hp easily).

If going for upgraded exhaust, a 270 grind will do it with little if andy low end sacrifice. Costs around $160 and patience. You'll need to dig up a solid lifter cam.
