Hi Y'all,
While passing a school bus on the highway this afternoon I experienced what
felt like an overboost fuel cut-out in my '95 S6. The boost at that moment
was not high enough to cause this. I repeated the "experiment" several
more times and found that the cut-out repeatably happened at approximately
10 psig of boost. This is quite a bit below where such an event should
happen in this car. When boost was below this 10 psig point the car
appeared to run perfectly normally.
After a brief stop during which time the ignition was turned off for a
couple of minutes on the trip back home I tried several times (as road and
weather conditions would permit) to see if the cut-out would repeat. It
did not - even at boost levels over 18 psig,
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any idea of the cause? A
momentary computer glitch which should be ignored? Or a major problem with
this or that sub-system? Ideas?
Bob
