V8 or S4?

Uh oh. This question is poison. That's like one of those questions
that your significant other asks you and you know there isn't a right
answer.

IMHO, it depends on what you can do and what you want out of it. I
think you can get a better overall performing car out of the S4 BUT, we all
know about the S4's quirky mechanical problems.
If you want something that you can work on if you aren't a certified
Audi expert, then I would think the V8 would be the better car for you.

I am, compared to the majority on here anyway, a rice boy. I would take
the S4, but colour doesn't matter to me and I want a 20V turbo in the worst
way.

This question is being posed to three very opinionated lists
(V8, S4, and quattro). Which would you choose, and why?

A. 1990 Audi V8, 100K miles, $7,500 in your favorite color combination
B. 1993 Audi S4, 100K miles, $11,000 in a "livable" color combination

Assume both are in excellent condition with recent major service
(i.e., t-belt) completed. Let the discussion begin.

Regards,
Kent McLean,
looking at both
