If the heater core is plugged, then chances are good that whatever is
plugging that is causing other problems as well.
One possibility that hasn't been brought up is that you can blow a head
gasket without getting mixing oil & coolant. It can breech from combustion to
coolant, at which point the system gets very hot and pressurised. Are you
getting any excesive pressure in the rad. or overflow tank?
Was there a treminal event at the onset of the problem, or has this come on
gradually?
