McMaster's pricing is in the $2.50/foot; that's without the "15%-20%
discount" they state for full lengths. Throw in cost of shipping the
stuff around, and there's your worst case scenario...well under
$3/foot. I've heard the stuff can be had for $1.50/foot; that's
pretty reasonable, at least to me, for stuff you'll probably never
have to replace again.
A fellow lister is going to help out locating a supplier via
wholesale channels; I suspect we'll do quite a bit better than
McMaster, since they strike me as a sort of "Griots" of the "misc
industrial stuff" world...should also be able to get something with
the proper wall thickness; too thin, and the stuff will collapse
under the fairly strong engine vacuum.
Still waiting from people to hear about the other tubing sizes that
are needed, if any(or if my sizing of 4/8/2mm is correct...)
