Could be a wiring fault; check ground and power with a meter.

This is just a thought, but did you recently have any major work
done, like, say, a timing belt?  Maybe someone pulled the front
bumper, but didn't disconnect the turn signals first, and damaged the
plug or cut one of the wires...
