Regarding the inoperability of the horn after the steering wheel has been
removed, I have experienced (and am still experiencing) that problem with my
1980 5k - the problem began when I r&r'd the power steering rack - the
measurement between the end of the steering column bolt and the column
sleeve is important (shown in the Bentley manual)- I did not adjust the
splined shaft at the rack correctly and now the horn only works when the
wheel is pressed in.  It's one of those "Round Tuits" I'm planning on
working on......
