Who Yields?

Left turn ALWAYS yields to oncoming traffic!!!!! The yield sign in your turn
lane is for "right turn on red" situations.
Of course, as Robert Myers (robert at s-cars.org) so astutely pointed out -
when in doubt: YIELD. He's right - rather safe than sorry - but the
left-turner MUST yield to you, the oncoming traffic. You are NOT entering
HIS (her) traffic lane - you are BOTH entering a DIFFERENT traffic lane than
the one you were in. But who wants to argue AFTER the accident, rather than
prevent it. Good point Robert.
What really irritates me is while sitting at a rural 4-way stopsign, those
pesky left-turners OFTEN dash across as I want to go straight, not following
the rules - OR alternatively, while I am the left-turner, the straightgoer
"waves" me to turn in front of him (or most often HER). I REALLY wish there
were some more strict guidelines on traffic education in connection with the
driver's testing in this country! MANY, many accidents could be avoided! And
much money would be saved in my pocket on insurance premiums!
JMHO, YMMV, and I am not a professional attorney!
