Duh. Sounded like idle curiosity to me, rather than desire for an excuse
to hit somebody.. (Not using coolant either! (-:) I've often wondered the

If its that simple, what about down the street where I've got the same
situation with no sign?
Has more to do with his establishing the lane, I think. Like most such
borderline calls, depends on who got there first. If he's started the
turn, you're merging with existing traffic, and you yield. If not, there's
no one in the lane to yield to- so you're free.
