Thought I would follow up on this thread. I did not have the time to do
as much experimenting as I would like to have done, and then the
"adapter" from Crutchfield's came. Contrary to some previous posts on
this, this adapter did do the trick. It took the Kenwood's rear speaker
output and fed it to the Audi/Bose rear amp inputs just fine. No more
overloads/sound drop out.
The only complaints I had were that no one at the adapter co nor
Crutchfield was too familiar with their product. They could not tell me
what it's power requirements were or which outputs (hi or lo) to use
with the bose amp. Turned out the adapter did not need any power
connections, and the lo outputs seems to work OK with the amp. Even at
the higest output setting, the rear volume was a bit lower than the
front, but that was fixed with the deck fader.
Hope this info helps others who might be trying this....
