If it's anything like the preceding 4kq heater/a/c system, you have a
heater valve plumbed into the coolant water system that operates in a cable
that eventually gets so that it can't shut the heater valve completely. On
the 4K, that valve is mounted on the front of the firewall and you can
follow the cable from where it comes through the firewall to the valve. If
the valve will move more closed than the cable presently closes it, that
may mean you need a new valve. Not a bad idea to change the valve at its
present age anyway.
