Cruise Control not working....also, anyone near Austin, MN?

Ralph, what a coincidence! I just fixed the cruise
control on my '89 100q today. The Bentley has a very
good diagnostic procedure which pointed out that my
switch was bad. I ended up disconnecting the switch
and soldering in two switches cannibalized from an old
VCR. One for on/off and another momentary switch for
SET. You don't really need the resume function.
I felt I had to do it since I'm off on a 1,000 mile or
so trip back and forth to Austin, MN.....by the way,
are there any listers in that area in case I need
another VCR part or something? Maybe get together and
compare creative fixes?
Mike
'89 100q (everything, including the cruise control
works)
'85 4ksq (most of the stuff, including the cruise
control works)
'86 5kcsqt (new addition, drivers side caved in, not
sure about the cruise control)
By the way, Kansas is home, but both the running cars
will be in Minnesota on separate trips. Prayers
welcome!
