I think TUV has a lot to do with this as well.
Pronouned "toofuff", it's an exhaustive inspection by
a squad of white lab-coated gents who scour the car
from above and below. Required repairs are often
prohibitively expensive. See the high speed driving
posts for further info or just imagine an upper or
lower suspension failure at 125 mph.
