A great car day

Hey Q-list:
I had a great automotive-related day yesterday. It started out with a
little trip to the greenhouse which was the first time I used my trunk
since I got the lid shocks fixed. The big test was no skull splitting
action as I threw a 40 lb bag of composted manure into the trunk.
Then Graham and I took the newly revived Fiat Spider to the Alpha/Fiat
gathering at Sherlock's Home that the Alpha club holds every Sunday.
Tons of MG owners showed up too and there were some interesting looking
sports cars. But the best was when we visited a friend of Graham's
house and saw his cars. He's got a 73 Jarama Lamborghini which he's
restoring which was just a trip. It had 12 cylinder engine which was
the longest engine block I've ever seen on a car. It had 6 carborators
all of which were being rebuilt. Yikes. He is also tearing apart an
Eagle talon Turbo AWD so that he can stuff the engine into the tiny
compartment of an Fiat X-19. The existing engine is very small and sits
on it's side, so I don't how he's going to get the Eagle engine and all
the Turbo housing in there. But it's fun to see this sort of lunacy in
action. The best part of the night was checking out the engine of his
wife's 93 Audi S4 turbo. It had me wondering if an S4 engine could fit
into a much smaller, humbler Audi. More lunacy.
Anyway, I feel newly motivate to find a new house with a much bigger and
better garage.
