5KCSQ dies & wont restart for a few minutes

Hard starting when warm is usually b/c the fuel system isn't staying pressurized
after the car shuts down. The fuel pressure in the system will decrease if you have
a bad fuel damper or fuel pump check valve. Also it could be caused by leaky
injectors, including the cold-start injector, or even a bad pressure regulator or
control unit. The best way to test for this is using a CIS fuel pressure gauge
(cheapest is $60 at JCW). You just hook up the gauge, jumper the fuel pump, turn
off the pump and watch the residual pressure. It should very slowly go down at the
rate given by the shop manual. I guess you could also run the pump and then
after shutting it off for 15 mins. see if there is much pressure in the fuel system by
opening the fuel connection at the warm-up regulator. The Haynes manual uses
the procedure for releasing the system pressure.

For the other issues, I'd say give the car a tune-up, at least whatever parts are a
little older. Chnage the fuel/air filters, check plugs, dist. cap, wires, and most
importantly check for vac. leaks. There are many hoses that can develop small
holes, usually on their undersides, which can cause lots of problems. Make sure
ALL hoses are in good shape. Pulling them out will leave no chance for a hose to
hide holes and cracks on you. This is real common Audi stuff so don't fret, you'll
find the problem soon. Good luck.
