Yeah I saw them about the same time they saw me and moved into the right
lane.

True there was no traffic to my immediate right, although a few cars
were about 1/3 mile down the road. But as I said, most of the entourage
had already assumed the right lane.
Listen fellas .. I'm sure this particular cross-section of people is
more in favor of driving fast than your average. But try not to let
that cloud your judgment.
The law requires me to stay as far right as practical. This means that
if it's impractical for me to switch into the right lane between passes,
I can stay there until it is practical for me to move back. It is NOT
against the law to pass on the right. It is a discouraged practice but
acceptable under some circumstances. "Hogging the left lane" as it's
been so delicately put is not even against the law.
Driving 45mph over the speed limit IS against the law as is following
another car too closely.
Why does this unwritten code of ethic transcend the state law?
This was clearly a situation where all drivers involved has to use their
best judgment. As I was the only witness among those currently present,
you'll all have to trust me.
All this presumptuous finger-pointing is pretty ridiculous (Michael).
