Help!!! 5KCSQ wont start over after clutch replacement

Adam,

The same problem occured when I had the clutch replaced a few years ago in a
87 5kcsq.  It took the shop about a week to figure out the machine shop put
the pins in the flywheel in the wrong place.  Your problem sounds very much
like mine.  Who did the flywheel and who put the pins back in?  The shop did
not charge me extra for the extra work necessary.  I think they had to
remove and reinstall.  Bummer for them, I hope you do not have to do the
same!

OK, after 30 hours doing an R&R on my clutch (first time on an Audi -- 87
5KCSQ) I was all ready to take it for a spin and see how I did, only it wont
start...The engine turns over and gas comes squirting out of the filter when
I cracked the banjo to make sure it is getting fuel (I am going to check for
spark once I find my multimeter)...

Two known issues from the swap - the vaccum housing for the central diff has
a broken nipple so the green stripe hose line isn't connected, and the O2
sensor was swapped out with the new one (generic 3 wire) mounted in and
wires spliced and twisted together until I can get to Radio Shack to get
nice connectors... would either of those two cause this?

Anything else I might have upset or need to reset?

Any suggestions? Things to check??
