a stupid question about brake pads

Megan, I seriously doubt it, pads don't really get curved, even a "warped rotor" spinning isn't going to create a curved surface. What I usually do is rough the pad up with a file or emery cloth, just to break up the surface, especially if it looks really smooth and glazed. Granted, it can't hurt to change the pads, but IME, warping is usually caused by over heating or in some cases, over torquing wheel bolts with a air gun, not by a slightly uneven pad surface.
