87 1/2 Coupe door lock on its way out?

OK, I'm new to doing my own maintenance, so how do I remove the latch to access the parts that need to be lubed? What parts need to be lubed? My drivers side is really stiff (passenger side is nice & smooth)...

My quarterly (every three months) Audi door handle/lock lube routine on 4K,
5K, 200 & V8 is to use a Teflon-inclusive spray lubricant on the lever
mechanisms, in the lock tumblers and (probably important) the latching
mechanism in the trailing door jamb.    For the latter, I spray everywhere
I can get the little straw to go while operating the lever
repeatedly.  Since beginning this approach about three years ago, every
door handle/lock has continued to function without breakage.  I also lube
the trunk lock and latch.
