A couple thoughts on the subject, I'd like to see one but haven't had any
free time to take measurements from an A4 donor.

1) much more costly, a basic 1.8T package might run 3200$ or so, plus odds n
ends. That money would by a lot in the 10vt world.

2) you'd need an A4 '98+ trans to mate with it, different bellhousing than
the ole 5cyls. Another 1200$ or so. Or chat with Ron Wood, as I hear he's
got an adapter(Kennedy?).

3) A 4000s subframe might get you in right ballpark for engine mounts, but
plan on some fabrication work to get the mounts and linkages to harmonize.

4) But yes, it would help weight distribution.
