I-5 metal head gaskets

I've worked on these engines since 1978 (and their 4 cylinder brothers since
early 1973), and I can remember only 2 5 cylinder cars that needed head
gaskets, and only because they needed valve guides. One a type 43, the
other a type 85 5+5. The former was very low miles, the latter very high
miles. I suppose for very high boost applications you might want a
specialty head gasket, but I can't see the need for a N/A car unless that's
what the stock part is. Some of the mid 70s 4 cylinder cars blew head
gaskets, but they were right around the time they changed the head bolts,
and we saw some blocks with the threads pulled out of the head bolt holes.
