usually not, most have an oiler you do before you charge, or you can tap t=
he oiler into the line from the machine, but it is messy when unhooking, i =
like to do an evac, then put the oiler on it, the vaccum in the system pull=
s the oil in all by itself, then pump the freon in. as far as knowing if it=
s got enough, you do about 3/4 of total oil required when re-charging, caus=
e not all of the oil is usually missing. and you can usually tell if you do=
not have enough, sounds just like when your motor oil is low !!!
