Ok all, wanted to bounce this off you -

A little history - some of you may remember me, about 4 years ago I
purchased a '88 5KCSTQ and I had put H&R's, Bilstiens, QLCC Chip etc on.
Boy I loved that car. You can see the pics here=>

The only problem was it was a 5 speed. Now my wife tried her hardest to
learn how to drive it, but never could get comfortable with it. When she
had our son Nathan 2 years ago, I felt it prudent to get an automatic in
case she needed to use my car. Which in hindsight was absolutely correct.
So I bought a 96 A6 Quattro, put on H&R's, Bilstiens, Brembo cross drilled
rotors etc, but as most of you know, the 2.8 v6 is not tunable, and a REAL
DOG! I thought I could deal w/ it, but in reality, I can't.

Fast forward today - the thing is just to slow, and I have actually been
looking at other cars ( a primo 92 BMW 750 for example) but I just can't
fathom not having the A6. I love the look of the car, it handles like a
dream, perfect color (arctic silver), and its paid off!
You can see the b4 pics of her here => http://www.ritekinc.com/auto/audia6/

So now I'm pondering selling the A6, and buying an older S4 / S6, or maybe
doing an engine swap in the A6. I'm also a Porsche guy (an 83 911 Cab, and
a 79 930 track car) so I thought about maybe doing a 928 S4 V8 swap? What
do you think? I know anything is possible if $$ is no object, but I would
want to keep the budget reasonable ($5-$7K??) Would this be somewhat
feasible? Any parts from the early Audi V8's work? I know the Porsche 928
is all aluminum and not to heavy. Would this just kill the resale value?
Could the stock auto in the A6 handle 300hp / 300 lbs/ft torque?

What do the experts think?

Thanks in advance

Rich Burke
