You're working on the wrong sensor. Most likely the sensor, or wiring for
the rad fan switch is shot. This sensor(switch) you want is at the bottom
of the radiator on the rear side. Quick and easy to change (just a little
messy ;)).
There is a full test for this sensor/wiring in the Bentley.
