the type 85 fan only runs at one speed.

if by "terminal velocity" you mean stopped and engine off, see Nate's
comment.

if you mean hell bent for leather, that's just the way it works.

PS, I *think* I have hallucinated some 3 wire connections for these
fans... it is possible that some of them run different windings for
running and afterrun.  There is still only one speed for each function,
however.
