No worries- just be gently when you let off the throttle. The CBV's main
purpose it to vent/recover the compression wave that happens when a column
of very dense charge air bounces off a throttle plate that suddenly
closed.
If you get out of it gently, you don't make much of a wave so its not a
big deal.
Added $.02- Inability to build boost is almost always an intake leak of
some sort. I've seen other cars hard limited by leaky CBVs, but as soon as
they upgrade the CBV they can make and hold twice the boost with no other
changes, not even to the boost control system.
(Maybe burn the engine in the process becasue its set too high, but thats
a different issue..(-:)
