I use a pseudonym because I'm preventing my info
going out on the web. EBAY & AOL might as well
just advertise your info. Also, my personal
email address does not accept list mail.
As far as yourself and Chris-I'd like to not get
him involved. He's been very decent. He did send
me a copy of the emails between you two about
how you kept trying to get used steering racks
off him and how it was "false economy".
In other words I should have just replaced with new.... thats a BIG
difference between that and me ripping him off. I count Chris as a FRIEND
not just as someone I do business with.
Parking lot dents and dings is not a horrible
repaint upon repaint. Nor is it a big dent in
the fender. A daily driver will not have bad
ball joints appear the day the car is delivered.
Oh and why not? I guess I'm just not the awesome mechanic you are and would
have had it fixed right away. I had been chasing that clunk for months,
check the archives, its in there...
Bad rear tie rod? Metal radiator?
You said, "oh,
I know one car has it...I forgot." It ended up
that it was in your 200q wagon.
Having 2 type 44's and going through constant repairs on one and replacing a
motor on the other can cause you to forget whats in what. Especially when
they are both the same color.
More miles than listed on ebay. The ebay listing, along with the
dmv registration confirms that the car had
~15,000 more miles.
Ummm yea, thats called a REPLACED speedo....
Oil cooler left to rest on
the fender.
Part of the shoddy repair work that was done by the previous owner after the
2 left-side doors were replaced along with the crappy job that was done
above the windshield.
ABS stopped working the day of
delivery?
Don't know about the ABS, it had been working up till that point.
Missing items here and there. The
paint faded the day after I brought it home?
You are so full of #$##, I'll scan the friggen reciept from MAACO if you
like. Painted in May of 2000.
Anyway, I bought a project car and that's it.
Just because it was settled in person doesn't
mean that I was happy. The car wasn't as
advertised on ebay, nor was it what we spoke of
on emails, which I still have.
Then WHY didn't you say something? If you were gonna hold a grudge, I would
have let you keep your damn 900.00 and sold it to someone else or kept it.
Simply put, I bought the car and that's it. I
let the qlist rep carry alot, thinking I
wouldn't be ripped off.
Yea a running driving car with new clutch, new brakes, new exhaust studs and
turbo side motor mount. For 900.00. Yea thats a total ripoff.
As far as the head goes,
you didn't exactly remember why the exhaust
studs were done. You even asked yourself. Don't
forget, I had my friend with me.
Umm cause the mount was shot and there was the usual putt, putt from a
broken/loose stud that would go away when the car heated up.
Last thing-I gave a vague description of what
happened and you immediately knew who I was.
Yea like I MADE you drive to Hartford. Did you forget we met HALFWAY? I
live in RI. I could have just said come up to RI. I worked with you. Do
you mention that? No, anything that could show that I actually might be a
decent person didn't make it into your story.
Oh and like I said before, the whole martial arts thing. Man, thats REALLY
pissing me off. I have NEVER tried to intimidate anyone with my training.
Martial arts is a WAY OF LIFE. It means showing respect to others and
constantly trying to improve yourself. You obviously have no idea what that
means.
This was based on what you call a "made up"
story. Very interesting that you know I was
referring to you witout naming you, using a fake
story? I also did tell other listers in private
the things that were right with the car. I'm
objective. There have been several listers that
have seen the car after I bought it.
Did you mention you paid 900$ for it? Prolly not, from seeing how you have
handled this so far.
Be mature and take the fight off the list and
end it here. It's over.
Steve
Oh and give you the last word making me out to be the scumbag? Hell no
Steve/Scott/whoever. Bottom line, you got a project car with some decent
things and some things gone wrong. Fuming over what you saw as lies or
whatever for the past year was NOT the mature thing to do. You should have
contacted me and tell me the things you found or just given the car back. I
could have given you other parts for the car, or worked something out. You
never gave me the option to try and make you a happy buyer.
