Brake issues

Fellow listers,
Yesterday I installed type 89 strut housings along with the stock type 89
shocks (temporarily until I receive the Bilsteins) in my type 85 coupe
quattro... and also a 90q20v master cylinder along with the 90 type 89
front brakes... after having it pressure bled ('coz I forgot my pressure
bleeder at my friend's place 60kms away, duh!) the brake pedal felt firm
and the pedal travel was really short (which is cool and was the purpose of
swapping the MC), BUT after driving a little, the pedal went down, and
after a few pumps was firm again... it didn't go fully down though but down
enough to scare me...
What could this be? Could it be that I still need to bleed the brakes? Do I
absolutely need to bleed the MC and the proportining valve? My car has no
ABS anymore so this isn't the problem anyway...
Thanks for your help and answers in advance,
Mihnea
