Carbon Fiber Metallic Brake Pads

Hello all,
I was wondering what the consensus on Carbon Fiber Metallic brake pads is.
My other car, which shall remain nameless needs new brakes.  I've gotten a
set of PowerSlot rotors and now I need some good pads.  This car is VERY
heavy and I wanted to upgrade the OEM brakes with better rotors and some
pads that handle heat better with less fade.

Are the carbon fiber pads OK for street use?  Comments and opinions welcome
(as long as they are about brake pads).
