Interesting dilemma, sudden No start, but will crank like crazy.

How old is the timing belt?
Sounds like what happened with our old 1980 Honka s/w - was at a friend's
house, went to leave and the engine turned over like the hampster was on
speed.  Turned out the t-belt had snapped, and the majority of cylinders
were just being vented by the open valves.
or - somebody is playing a joke on you and pulled the plugs?
