rebuilding rear calipers

I spent bigger part of Sunday trying to install C-clip in a rear brake
caliper. I did  ot 30 min ago and instead of going to bed I tried  to
finish the job and pierced rubber boot.  Damn!  The second one is about
to be torn -big crack on both sides. So, I need 2 rebuild kits.
Cheapest I found is $25 from NAPA (imported from Europe).
Anyone know better source?
I am telling you, that c-clip is a big PITA.   I used a big carpenter
clamp to drive spring retainer down (using deep socket) and than spent 4
hourse to put the c-clip in place.   What happened is one of retainer
vanes (could not find better word) bent when it was driven into recess
and it impeded c-clip to snap in place.
