speaking of tools...

Picking a favourite tool is tough. Several have been 'good purchases' in the sense that they
still impress me with how easy they make some jobs.

I have a long-handled 3/8" drive ratchet handle from FACOM with a gimballed ratchet. You can
use it like a normal ratcher handle to loosen a fastener, and then swing the handle up and
palm it, like a Boy Scout trying to light a fire. You can get the plugs out of an I5 in less
than a minute.

I have flexible drivers for the common sizes of hose clamps. Simple tools - you rarely think
how useful they are.

The FACOM wiring tool, a stripper/crimper - simply because no crimped joint I've made with it
has ever failed. Cumbersome thing, but you only use it once.

A set of stubby clutch-style ratchet handles, 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive. More useful and more
compact than palm ratchets.

A gas-powered soldering iron.

The FACOM clutch-style stud grippers. Especially the 6mm and 8mm.

And a piece of coat-hanger wire for pulling on the ur-quattro's air box clips.

The story goes on. I can barely lift the portable box these days.
