Blake,

Sounds like a vacuum issue.

Standard culprits:	Intake Manifold to Intercooler hose (a.k.a. Michelin
Man hose) Only way to check to be sure is removal with VERY careful
prodding, and the "accordian" method if your hands are big enough to
cover the ends to produce a good seal. The oil that beuilds up in the
turbo intake systems destroy the bottom of these hoses between the
pleats, which makes the leaks hard to find. I have wondered if you can
get the car to idle if prodding the hose when the engine idles can
make the car stall. Anyway, replace the hose (unless it's new, might
as well do it anyway), last I checked, about $35 at IPC and Double Z
in the vendor list.

Intercooler End Cap seals - Feel around the intercooler (radiator like
thing in front of the engine, from about centerline towards the
drivers (LHD) side of the car. If you hand comes off greasy, suspect
the intercooler seals. Brett Dikeman had posted
sometime in the last week (2/27 or 2/28) a rather nice procedure for
resealing those, or perhaps contact lister Chris Semple for a
replacement for well under $100 bucks (thanks Chris!)

Otherwise - check out Scott Mockry's excellent site, "The ABC's of High
Boost" (sjmautotechnic.com, I think, not on the web at the moment,
check vendor list), for a complete guide to diagnosis.

HTH!
