car repair safety

I read an article in the paper here where a guy got trapped under his
Volvo 245 while oing some exhaust work. He managed to lift the car with
his arms (!) and his wife later drove him to the emergency medical
center. He had severla broke ribs and partially collapsed lungs. The
worst thing was that the doctor didnt examine him thoroughly and
tightened some bandages around his chest. A nurse there was fairly
awake, gave him some oxygen just as the ambulance arrived, where they
reacted quickly and rushed him to hospital in Oslo. The thought of
incompetent doctors is frightening!
